Music Remixing (creative music remixing task)

Using the original stems provided by your lecturer, you will produce a remix in the style of your choosing. Within your remix project you must be able to show you have carried out all of the processes outlined within the table below.

On completion of your remix, you must produce an audio master and software files (including audio files).

All the requirements detailed below should be carried out to produce a final remix which is technically competent, IE. it should be coherent in terms of tempo and pitch.

You are also required to produce written evidence in the form of an evaluation comparing your mixed track with the original version.

Practical Checklist

1. Import audio form an external source

2. Edit imported audio by: producing a minimum of two glitch free looped one, two or four bar samples form longer pieces of audio.

3. Edit the recorded track(s) to ensure they match the imported audio in terms of pitch and tempo.

4. Ensure all tracks match in terms of pitch and tempo.

5. Record a minimum of one new MIDI track.

6. Apply one dynamic processing.

7. Apply on time-based processing.

8. Mix down the remix to an appropriate format.

9. Back up and name all generated files.
